OCEAN BREEZE HALLOWEEN FESTIVAL AND HAUNTED TRAILS

Description: Please join the staff at Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex as they host their first annual Halloween Festival and Haunted Trails event. The event will have Halloween inspired activities-contests, crafts, pumpkin picking, music and much more. Both evenings will have a half mile haunted trail walk. Parents, this is a scary attraction, discretion is advised. On Sunday Oct. 30 at 1 PM there will be a child friendly walk through of the haunted trails. IT’S MY PARK PROGRAM -Applications are due November 1ST for December projects!

Description: Partnerships for Parks invites you to get involved in It’s My Park hands-on service projects in all five boroughs. Our It’s My Park program offers year-round volunteer opportunities — from painting benches and planting bulbs, to weeding and cleaning, and much more!

Deadlines: Applications are due the first day of the month before the proposed project date.

STEWARDSHIP PROJECTS | NYC PARKS STEWARDSHIP

Description: Volunteers can help with forest and wetland restoration, planting and pruning street trees, harvesting and propagating native seed and monitoring local wildlife. By becoming a steward of NYC’s green spaces, you can help ensure that our city’s natural resources are kept safe for future generations.

CPF Executive Director Heather Lubov and NYC Parks Commissioner Mitchell J. Silver, FAICP, will honor the Partnerships Academy Fellows and Mentors, who took their dedication to their parks to the next level by participating in the Partnerships Academy Fellowship, a six-month long training program.

HOW TO GROW YOUR COMMUNITY PARK GROUP

Description: At this workshop you will hear frmo experts on how to best grow your group, as well as from leaders who have expanded groups themselves. Come learn how other groups have brought on great new members, and have expanded what they are able to accomplish as a result. Also, participate in a personalized activity that will outline the next steps towards growing your groups.

GROW TO LEARN MINI GRANT

Description: Schools can apply for a grant between $500 and $2,000 to pay for construction or expansion of a school garden. Eligible gardens can include but are not limited to: classroom, school yard, rooftop and partnering urban farms and community gardens.

Description: Please join the garden for their annual pumpkin festival. Children aged 12 and under must be present to receive a pumpkin.

URBAN PARK RANGER PROGRAMMING

For over 30 years the Urban Park Rangers have helped New Yorkers of all ages to discover the great outdoors, uncovering the natural wonders that exist right here in their own backyard. Description: Join New York Road Runners for free weekly runs in your neighborhood! Open to all ages and experience levels. Walkers, strollers, and dogs on leash are welcome.
