St. George Day Festival

A Community Festival Celebrating Earth Day, Art, and Cooperative Collaboration

The St. George Day Festival, a local Earth Day and arts celebration, will take place Saturday, April 22, 2017, from 11 am to 5 pm around Tompkinsville Park on Little Bay Street, on Staten Island. This free, all day grassroots event features a variety of live performances, art, and activities that are family friendly and geared toward the communities of Tompkinsville and its surrounding areas. Among the highlights this year will be an International Food Sampling Station, the Tottenville High School Green Technology Club promoting alternative energy solutions by displaying their award-winning solar-powered vehicle, and the Dragon Parade.

Each year, St. George Day features a variety of artistic, creative, and educational programming for all ages centered on Earth Day. This year’s event includes DIY activities for all ages, a community picnic area, voter registration and information, space for artists to create and/or hang their artwork around the park, and live performances. Two of St. George Day’s signature offerings, Earth Day Zone and the Festival Dragon Parade, will again be presented. An Earth Day event like no other, the festival invites visitors to imagine the possibilities of what their neighborhood can be when bonded by a deep commitment to the arts, humanities, and the environment.
