Home Games : A Collaborative Exhibition with the Staten Island Sports Hall of Fame

HOME GAMES follows the changing role of sports as reflected in the lives of Islanders like Gloria Elliott of the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League, inspiration for the movie “A League of Their Own;” local sports hero Bobby Thomson, who hit “the shot heard ’round the world” winning the pennant for the NY Giants then rode the Staten Island Ferry home, and Super Bowl champion Joe Andruzzi, who became a symbol of resilience after one of his firefighter brothers narrowly survived the 2001 attack on the World Trade Center – and again emerged as one of the heroes of the Boston Marathon bombing. Click here for more information and tickets to the opening day Breakfast of Champions.
