Tavern Concerts
This indoor winter concert series will take place in the newly restored Guyon Tavern, located on Richmond Road. The Tavern boasts a wood-burning stove, flickering candles, live music and the true feel of a 19th century saloon. Beverage options harken back to the period and include hot spiced apple cider, scratch made mulled wine, as well as a refreshing selection of beers.
Cabin Fever Reliever ~ Irish Soda Bread Workshop
In honor of St. Patrick’s Day, learn how to make your own Irish Soda Bread at Historic Richmond Town! Join Historical Interpreters who will explain the history and origins of this classic quick bread, and make your own loaf to take home!
English Country Dance
EVERY 2ND AND 4TH WEDNESDAY | 7:30-9:30PM
Join Historical Interpreter Jeffrey Cavorley to learn the art of the classic social dance developed in England through the 18th century! English Country Dancing was carried over to the 13 American colonies and early republic, and was popular among the founding fathers & mothers, and the common people alike.
Cub Scout Day
Calling all Cub Scouts! Come to Historic Richmond Town for a day filled with fun and activities at New York’s Living History Village.
Billiou-Stillwell-Perine House Guided Tours
The Billiou-Stillwell-Perine House is the oldest house on Staten Island, and the 4th oldest home in New York State. Join us for special exclusive guided tours that reveal the oldest section of the house, built in 1662.
Spring Chores n’ Tours
This Spring, explore the reawakened historic village of Historic Richmond Town. Costumed Historical Interpreters will display 19th century lifeways, demonstrating housekeeping, cleaning, and chores we perform today with modern conveniences.
Yankee Peddler Day
This is the perfect event for the American picker in all of us! Whether you are a serious collector, or are completely new to the thrifting experience – this is the event for you. Who knows, you may just find that hidden piece of Americana that your family will cherish for generations to come! All proceeds for this event benefit Historic Richmond Town.
Uncorked! Food & Wine Festival
Historic Richmond Town opens its grounds to more than 40 restaurants, wineries and breweries for a food and wine festival like no other. What once was a community gathering place more than 300 years ago once again hosts an annual gathering where community staples join forces and showcase the best eats on Staten Island.
Apprentice Program
Historic Richmond Town’s rich array of apprenticeships builds real-world skills based upon centuries of American ingenuity. The program is a wonderful alternative to the tried and true summer camp. Individualized sessions in the Historic Trades are conducted in small groups of less than five and accelerate learning as students work with an experienced Artisan to build their skills forging iron, shaping tin, and cooking over an open fire as they create one-of-a-kind, handcrafted items.
Richmond County Fair
Staten Island’s annual community celebration and Historic Richmond Town’s biggest fundraiser. For 41 years, Historic Richmond Town has hosted the Richmond County Fair, and we are honored to welcome everyone to enjoy the best of Staten Island. Also, it is our most important fundraiser of the year, and your ticket to the Richmond County Fair directly supports Historic Richmond Town in its mission to preserve and share our local history.
Pumpkin Picking at Decker Farm
Pumpkin Picking at Historic Richmond Town’s Decker Farm returns Saturday, October 1, with all of your favorite autumnal activities! Search the patch for the perfect pumpkin, learn about 19th century farm life, and indulge in delicious fall food favorites, all without leaving Staten Island!
