Joe Simonelli and Alberta Thompson are opening a new theatrical venue on Staten Island that will host live entertainment for audiences of all ages.
The Little Victory Theatre is an intimate venue that will provide actors, writers, directors, and performers of all kinds to showcase their art.
Invitations will soon be sent out to active members of the “Arts” scene on Staten Island to take part in an upcoming open house where Thompson and Simonelli will introduce The Little Victory Theatre and its amenities that are available to all! Centrally located at 4089 Victory Boulevard in the Travis area of Staten Island, co-owners, Joe and Alberta, have redesigned a store front that transports audiences to a cozy and comfortable atmosphere reminiscent of a theater space from the early 20th Century!
“We are starting our season off with an original play, Heaven Help Me, which was written by my partner, Joe,” says Thompson. She went on to say, “Look for many of the great plays we all know and love, as well as puppet shows, cabarets, and other special events. In addition, the venue is available for rental to theatrical groups and all other artists, as well as private children’s birthday parties.
Simonelli is not only excited to be part of creating this artistic space, but thrilled that the inaugural show will also be the premier of his play, Heaven Help Me. A comedy/fantasy, Heaven Help Me, is about three brothers who try to sell the family beach house to help the failing family business…there’s just one problem, their deceased brother is haunting it! Directed by Cathy O’Hare, Heaven Help Me, opens Friday, June 17th for a seven performance run; and stars Coryanne Cook, Dave Duncan, Charlie McLaughlin, Debbie O’Brien, Jai Sada and Roland Uruci
