The Staten Island Mall Enchants with Santa, Sparkle and Shine, a magical curation for the 2015 Holiday Season.
Recent news has reported that the beloved Mall, icon of proper Staten Island Christmas was betraying the Staten Island community with their holiday displays and lack of holiday spirit. Recently, almost 32,000 people joined a Facebook group to boycott the Mall for lack of Christmas spirit. The holiday exhibit at the Staten Island Mall has been renowned for beauty and grandeur since it opened. Staten Island NYC Living visited the Staten Island Mall in the center of the island on Richmond Avenue to visit Santa and we loved it.
When you the mall on the JC Penney side past Red Robin and Applebees in a blink you see Santa. Lit up at the shiny glistening and beautifully decorated Santa Display a friendly staff ushers you to meet the best Santa ever. He was incredible. He came over to say hello. He donned his notched original Santa belt winked and smiled and confided his belly was real. Instantly, Santa exhilarated the children’s faces as they passed, letting each one know they were on the good list. We saw beautifully decorated stores with welcoming staff. Holiday music was playing and the mall gleamed. dropping were bright and sparkly lights with lit up stars and the fossil stone floor was gleaming. The Mall had a feeling that something was different, holiday spirit. There is a large and beautiful manger scene
and the fiery Hanukkah menorah display. There were other displays including Kwanzaa as well.
The storefronts were welcoming and kiosks filled with holiday goodies to give and receive. The sweet candy scents from the popcorn and pretzel vendors were incredible. The mall was immaculate, warm and welcoming. This year in the center of the Staten Island Mall there is room to sit relax, have something sweet or savory and enjoy all the sights and sounds of a New York City Christmas. Every year for over 25 years we have been awed by the incredible show and ambiance the Mall has provided and they have once again enchanted.
