Tot Time Tuesdays

Every Tuesday 10:00 am – 11:30 am

Explore a different nature theme each week during this indoor free playgroup.  Guided story time begins at 10:30 am followed by a short hike at 11:00 am, weather permitting.  Ages 0-3

Saturday Morning Walks

Every Saturday  10:00 am – 11:00 am

Take a stroll with us every Saturday morning throughout the summer.  Learn about the flora and fauna in our Park or just get out, get exercise, and enjoy the fresh air!  All ages welcome.  We will hike at least a mile each week.

Alien Invaders

Saturday, July 13  1:00 pm – 3:00 pm

Have you ever heard the term, “invasive species?”  Learn what that means, learn about those present in our Park, and help to remove them in honor of New York State Invasive Species Awareness Week.  Best for ages 5 and up.  Please RSVP.

Pottery Workshop

Saturday, July 20, 2:00 pm – 3:30 pm

Create your own pottery with ceramic sculptor Eder Perez.  Please RSVP by emailing Emily.Becker@parks.ny.gov or call 718-605-3970 x201.

Art in the Park: Pressed Flower Art

Saturday, July 27  2:00 pm – 3:30 pm

Use pressed flowers to decorate bookmarks, framed collages, or a small box for keepsakes.  Best for ages 5 and up.

Dick Buegler Bash

Saturday, August 24  2:00 pm – 5:00 pm

Honor the memory of Dick Buegler, co-founder of the Protectors of Pine Oak Woods and one of the people responsible for the existence of our Park!  Enjoy food, fun, and music.  All ages welcome.

Art in the Park: Build a Birdhouse

Saturday, August 31  2:00 pm – 3:30 pm

Assemble and decorate a home for birds!  We will use tools such as a hammer and nails.  Best for ages 8 and up.

Stop & Swap

Saturday, September 21  12:00 pm – 3:00 pm

Brought to you by GrowNYC: bring clean, reusable, portable items such as clothing, housewares, electronics, books, and toys that you no longer need.  Take home something new-to-you, free!  You don’t have to bring anything to take something.

Please do NOT bring: furniture, large items, expired or open food, unsealed personal care products, medicines, dirty or ripped clothing, fabric scraps, incomplete toys and games, non-working electronics, tube TVs, magazines, or sharp objects.

Art in the Park: Twig Art

Twigs are a versatile medium for creating beautiful sculptures!  We will provide materials to make yarn-wrapped magic wands, picture frames, candle holders, and more!  Best for ages 8 and up.
