Saturday, June 17th, 1:00 – 5:00 PM Tibetan Thangka Paintings and Wood Carvings
The Museum is pleased to be a recipient of a Cultural Immigrant Initiative Grant from Councilmembers Steven Matteo and Deborah Rose. As part of the initiative the Museum will have a thangka exhibit by Tserring Phuntsok and Wood Carvings by Dholak, along with a screening of the Film Arts in Exile which features both Dholak and Tserring. Free with Regular Admission

Saturday: June 24 1:00 – 5:00 PM. Create your Own Peace Flags in the Wind.
Tibetan prayer flags are hung throughout the high mountaintops of the Himalayas and the belief is that the wind takes the prayers throughout the world so that all sentient beings may benefit. On Saturday, June 24, visitors will have the opportunity to meet Staten Island artist, Joseph Lawrence Vasile and create their own peace flags.

Peace Flags workshops and exhibits will be held on location across at the Tibetan Museum, other museums, galleries, schools, universities in the remaining 49 American states within the next year. Once the United States Peace Flag is completed in will be unveiled and displayed in Myanmar (Burma).

Mr. Vasile has received positive press and praise for the innovative new art form and peaceful concepts from media outlets in Burma and Australia.

Please join us for our Saturday Meditations at 11:30 AM on the following dates: June 17th, June 24th, and July 1st. There will be no meditation on July 8th.

TIBETAN TWILIGHT, July 28th 6:30 -9:00 PM
Please join us for our annual Tibetan Twilight Fundraiser on July 28th. All proceeds benefit the Museum’s programs, exhibitions, and capital projects. Tickets are available by clicking here.
